Running has been the only constant in my life throughout the past few months. I graduated college (albeit virtually) and moved from MD to CO alone for a new job. I can’t express how crazy this is in comparison to the rest of my life-it’s beyond anything I thought I’d ever do. But, back to the first sentence, running.
No matter where I’m at, what I’m doing, which emotions I’m feeling, I can still always run. While I don’t know exactly what this blog/newsletter is or will become, I can promise a few things.
Running Science: I’m a nerd with a degree in kinesiology…you’d be mistaken if you thought I wouldn’t bring some sports medicine journal articles to the table.
Running News: Running, and even more so women’s running, does not get the same media platform as other power sports. From Kipchoge to Houlihan to Felix, we’re definitely gonna have lots to talk about
Tips and Tricks: I’m no expert (that’s for sure), but I’ve steadily built myself from “definitely not a runner” to “if I stop running I will mentally crumble” over the past few years. I’m the queen of being an average runner, so don’t expect articles for how to take seconds off your mile time or which speed intervals to do—frankly, I don’t care…do what makes you feel good!
Community: The best thing about running is the community. I wish to create an inclusive space for runners of all ability, gender, race, sexuality, and other aspects of identity.
You can find me on TikTok @RunWithErin where I document my running journey and make other running-related content.
Anyways, hello..I’m Erin, nice to meet ya! If you take anything away from my internet presence, let it be that taking yourself seriously is overrated.
